Pointing a domain
You can use your own domain instead of the default VexaNode subdomain. Find your service's IP or target in the client area / panel.
The records you need
| Service | Record | Name | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Website / bot panel | A | panel | node IP |
| Minecraft (port 25565) | A | play | node IP |
| Minecraft (custom port) | SRV | _minecraft._tcp.play | 0 5 <port> play.example.com |
| Bot API (HTTP) | A or CNAME | api | node IP / hostname |
<service> 3600 IN CNAME <service>.vexanode.gg also works for HTTP services.
Cloudflare: proxying
- HTTP(S) services (websites, APIs): the orange cloud (proxy) is fine and adds protection.
- Minecraft / bots / any non-HTTP port: the orange cloud must be off (grey cloud). The proxy only speaks HTTP(S) and will break other protocols.
