Uploading your bot
Prepare your project
package.json(Node) orrequirements.txt(Python) must list every dependency.- Do not include
node_modules/orvenv/— the panel installs dependencies on start. - Do not include
.envif the repo is public; use panel variables instead.
Upload
Zip (small projects)
- Zip the project contents (not the parent folder).
- Panel → Files → Upload → Unarchive → delete the zip.
SFTP (bigger projects)
bash
sftp user@node-xx.vexanode.gg -P 2022
put -r ./mybot/*Set the entry point
Panel → Startup:
| Runtime | Typical startup |
|---|---|
| Node.js | node index.js |
| Python | python main.py |
| Java | java -jar bot.jar |
| Bun | bun index.ts |
Install dependencies
Most runtimes install automatically on start. To force it:
- Node:
npm installfrom the panel Console - Python:
pip install -r requirements.txt
Keep it 24/7
- Enable auto-restart (default on): if the process crashes, it comes back.
- Use Schedules to restart nightly if your bot leaks memory.
- Add error handling so a single failed API call does not crash the whole process.
