Managed databases
VexaNode runs managed databases so you do not have to patch, back up or secure a database server yourself.
Engines
| Engine | Typical use |
|---|---|
| MongoDB | Discord bots, flexible documents |
| Redis | Caching, sessions, queues, leaderboards |
| PostgreSQL | Apps that need SQL, transactions |
Create one
- Order Managed Databases and pick the engine and size.
- Your connection string appears in the client area:
mongodb://user:pass@db-xx.vexanode.gg:27017/mydb
redis://default:pass@db-xx.vexanode.gg:6379
postgresql://user:pass@db-xx.vexanode.gg:5432/mydbConnect from your bot (Node.js)
js
// MongoDB
const { MongoClient } = require("mongodb");
const client = new MongoClient(process.env.MONGO_URI);
await client.connect();js
// Redis
import { createClient } from "redis";
const redis = createClient({ url: process.env.REDIS_URL });
await redis.connect();Security
- Keep the credentials in panel variables, never in public code.
- By default only your own services can reach the database. Ask support to whitelist an extra IP.
- Databases are backed up automatically; increase retention on request.
INFO
Do not expose your database port publicly. Every open database port on the internet is scanned within minutes.
